About MN Ag Research

We are a small business working in field research locations throughout southern Minnesota.  Our goal is to provide high quality research locations, field operations, and support to provide research-grade data to our partners.

Established in 2000

Mark Querna took over managing the southern Minnesota, South Dakota and Iowa regions of the FIRST program from his brother __ Querna in 2000.  He and brother John have managed several corn and soybean FIRST regions, introducing a conventional and food-grade soybean test in 2021.

Our Future

We are adding research capabilities in the coming years to include silage research, and expanded product efficacy research.  Our team in New Richland, MN manages research protocols, packaging, and data collection activities.

Mark Querna
Owner

Mark graduated from University of Minnesota with a degree in Agronomy.  He has worked in field research for 20+ years.  He is the team leader for the northwest region of the FIRST independent testing program.  He is an active dance competitor and enjoys organizing social events with his cooperating farmers.  

John Querna
Manager

John has worked in field research, including co-managing the FIRST program regions for many years.  He lives in ___ Rapids, MN with his wife and 2 children.
